The situation at Streckland's family was dismal. Some times later Mrs.Strickland told the writer that her husband left their family and moved to Paris with another woman. She asked him to go to Paris to talk to her husband, to bring him back to the family. The narrator could not refuse.

The NARRATOR and Mrs Stricland found many themes for discussions and as a result they became close friends. FROM THEIR CONVERSATIONS he LEARNT about her husband, a stockbroker.
The situation IN StrIckland's family was dismal.
Some TIME later Mrs.Strickland told the NARRATOR that her husband HAD left their family and moved to Paris with another woman. (No indirect speech in the summary!!!)
